This 1989 video, developed by the political action group H.E.M.P. (Aid Do away with Marijuana Prohibition), showcases Hemp For Victory, a 1942 film developed by the U.S. Division of Agriculture in which American farmers are encouraged to develop hemp for the war work. Activist Jack Herer outlines the U.S. government’s extended denial and current confirmation of the existence of the film.
The video also includes brief excerpt from the 1936 anti-marijuana film, Reefer Madness, which is followed by a denunciation from Herer.
Footage archived by the Campaign for the Restoration and Regulation of Hemp (CRRH).
